The Sport Ireland Institute supports applied research that can have an immediate and demonstrable impact on performance. The Institute’s Research Guidelines provide an overview of our approach to research and include a short application process to engage with us on applied projects.

The Institute is not a research funding agency but works in partnership with other stakeholders to deliver impact to high performance Irish sports. Currently, the main means of achieving this is through partnerships with third level sport science departments using the Irish Research Council’s Enterprise Scheme.

From time to time, the Institute will publish its research priorities and these will be available on this page. If you have any queries on Sport Ireland Institute research activity please contact us at
