Sinnott-O'Connor, C., Comyns, T.,  Nevill A. M., & Warrington, G., International Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance ()

Stress responses in athletes can be attributed to training and also competition, where increased physiological and psychological stress may negatively impact on performance and recovery. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between training load and salivary biomarkers IgA, alpha-amylase (AA) and cortisol across a 16-week preparation phase and 10-day competition phase in Paralympic swimmers.
