ISC Board Members
The statutory responsibilities of the Council are set out in the Irish Sports Council Act 1999. The Council has a chairperson and 10 ordinary members who are appointed by the Minister for Tourism Sport and Recreation. The Council decides all major policy decisions and financial expenditure. The Council determines policy for the organisation and, in consultation with the other elements, develops structures and procedures and reviews performance. The Council meets once monthly.
The members of the Irish Sports Council were appointed to ensure that the Council has access to the breadth of experience and expertise necessary for it to carry out the expansive role with which it has been charged in the legislation.
